All your weeping is in vain;
Though I leave you bowed in sorrow,
We shall meet in joy again,
Do not mourn because I leave you,
God has called me home to dwell;
Kiss me, mother - you too, sister,
And forever fare thee well.

'Tis a little grave; but oh, have care,
For worldwide hopes lie hidden there.
A father's pride, a mother's joy,
Is buried with our darling boy.
Our dove has flown to the realms above,
And left this sinful world;
He has gone to dwell with Jesus,
And has flown through the gates of pearl.

Life is sad without you here;
Oh, may we meet in Heaven above,
Where all is joy, peace, and love.
